All State Voting Control
Manage nomination quotas, approval votes for over-quota nominees, voting sessions, access codes, dropped players, outlier detection, and the transition from All State final voting to Honorable Mention voting.
All State Eligibility (All Conference First Team)
All Conference 1st Team players saved on the committee All Conference grid for this year are automatically eligible for All State (no CSV required for them). Use CSV below to add or override rows (same columns); importing replaces only the all_state_eligibility table, not the conference grid.
Imported CSV rows (year: —)
All Conference 1st Team from the committee page is merged automatically for voting and Add Candidate; it does not appear in this table unless you also import it via CSV.
Import from CSV
Choose a CSV file with columns: player name, team/school, position, grade, jersey number. Header row optional.
Troubleshooting: eligibility hints vs. vote-page candidates
The 1st Team grid and imported CSV populate the Add Candidate dropdown/autofill hints. The vote page is driven by actual submitted nominations. A player appears on the All State vote page only if they pass all of these steps (in order):
- Rosters + year — In
rosters, the row must haveyear= selected year (or null). - Nomination status —
nomination_statusmust beapproved, orpending_approvalwith net approve votes inall_state_approval_votes. - Dropped for round — The player must not be in
all_state_round_dropped_playersfor the selected year and round. Check the Dropped Players section. - Honorable Mention rounds —
hm_*rounds exclude players already selected for All State 1st Team.
So: Eligibility (1st Team grid + optional CSV) = helpful dropdown/autofill data; Rosters (year + status) = who was actually nominated and can appear on the ballot. Full pipeline is documented in Flow & dependencies and in docs/ALL_STATE_CANDIDATES.md in the repo.
Team Rankings
↑ Return to topIngest a list of teams in rank order. This determines how many auto-approved nomination slots each team gets: Rank 1–8 = 3 slots, 9–16 = 2 slots, 17+ = 1 slot. Teams not in the list use the default quota below.
Current rankings (for selected year)
Update rankings
One team per line. Use school name or team name (must match an existing awards team). Order = rank 1, 2, 3, …
Nomination Workflow
↑ Return to topEach team gets a number of auto-approved nominations. Nominations above that count are pending approval and must receive committee votes (approve > reject) to appear on the vote list.
Shown on the coach Add Candidate page. If you leave this blank, the default text above is used.
Nomination stats by team
Pending approval (over-quota nominees)
Committee votes (approve / reject) control whether a pending nominee appears on the coach All State ballot: when approve count > reject count, they are included on the vote page even while still marked pending in the database. To clear them from this list and match nomination stats, use Mark approved (DB) after voting (or to override). Use Mark pending (DB) only to correct a mistake.
Voting Session & Access Code
↑ Return to topSet an access code to give out the day of the meeting. Activate the round when voting opens.
Starts Honorable Mention voting (HM Round 1) and filters out the All State 1st Team from the coach voting pool.
Dropped Players (this round)
↑ Return to topRemove players from the voting pool for this round. They will not appear as options for coaches in this round or any later All State round (Round 1 drops carry into Round 2 and 3).
Drop by points threshold
Drop all players whose points (from a prior round's votes) are below the threshold. Round 1 uses per-position thresholds; Round 2, Round 3, and HM use a single global threshold when the source round is a combined pool.
Outlier Detection
↑ Return to topFlag votes that deviate significantly from the mean. Set the standard deviation multiplier (e.g. 2.0 = flag votes more than 2 std dev from mean). Coaches vote to apply the threshold before the meeting.
Understanding the results: Outliers use coach votes for the chosen scope only. Check rows to throw out, then use the button below. Click column headers to sort.
