STAT RANKING WEIGHTS

How to customize Stats Rank on the All State voting page

Important: Stat weights only change the Stats Rank helper in View All Player Stats. They do not change your submitted rank-choice ballot or the committee’s official point totals.

What this is for

When you open View All Player Stats on the All State vote page, each player has a Stats Rank column. That rank is a weighted blend of roster statistics (goals, assists, saves, and so on).

Different coaches value different stats. This tool lets you decide how much each stat counts when that column is calculated — separately for Attack, Midfield, Defense, and Goalie.

Quick start (about 3 minutes)

  1. Log in with your coach account.
  2. Go to Stat ranking weights (also linked from the All State vote toolbar).
  3. Choose a position tab: Attack, Midfield, Defense, or Goalie.
  4. Move sliders from 0 (ignore) to 100 (most important). Click Save weights.
  5. Open All State votingView All Player Stats → confirm Stats Rank reflects your choices.
  6. Change weights and save again; refresh the stats table to see ranks update.

Presets

  • Equal (default): Every listed stat counts the same (matches the original behavior before weights existed).
  • Suggested emphasis: Starting point that favors typical position roles (e.g. goals for attack, ground balls for defense, saves for goalie). You can adjust from there.

Statistics you can weight

Stat Notes
Games playedHigher is better
Goals, Assists, Points (G+A)Higher is better
Shots, Draw controlsHigher is better
Ground balls, Caused turnovers, InterceptionsHigher is better
SavesHigher is better (goalies)
Goals allowedLower is better (goalies)

Stats Rank compares players in the pool you are viewing (e.g. all Attack players when the Attack filter is active). In combined rounds, each player’s roster position picks which weight profile applies.

Privacy and scope

  • Per coach: Your weights are saved for your login only. Another coach’s weights do not affect yours.
  • Per season: Weights apply to the current awards year (2026).
  • Not per round: One weight profile for the season; all voting rounds use the same Stats Rank settings.
  • Not official scoring: Committee aggregates and voting points come from rank-choice ballots, not Stats Rank.

Testing feedback

If you are helping test this feature, please note:

  • Could you save weights and see Stats Rank change on the vote page?
  • Anything confusing on phone or desktop?
  • Any stat you wish you could weight that is missing?

Send feedback to your awards committee contact.
